Job Description

The Systems team is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting the technology infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, storage, networking, workstations and rendering. It also includes the various software elements around both the core operating system(s) and the various application layer components that are deployed upon that framework.

Primary Responsibilities

A Mid/ Senior Systems Administrator performs daily duties of maintenance on applications, OS, hardware, monitoring resources and troubleshooting. They need to be able to communicate well with the end users and deal with varied issues on a daily basis. These can include OS (Windows and Linux), hardware, application deployments, networking, storage, studio setups, remote working etc.
Escalation point for high-priority, production-related issues
Proactive and creative in identifying and addressing pain points through documentation, automation, scripting or redesigning existing infrastructure
Help maintain security compliance and ensure that processes and procedures follow company and industry standards.
Provide excellent support, including clear verbal and written communications to both technical and non-technical people.
Participate in the activities of the local and global team, including development, support activities, and regular status and planning meetings.
Administration and support of critical services and resources including configuration, licensing, monitoring, patching and updates.
Passionate and knowledgeable about enterprise IT security concepts, procedures and implementations
Ability to automate workflows and extend services via scripting through Bash/Shell and Python or other languages.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent degree or professional experience in a technical discipline.
Previous experience in VFX or similar production-driven environment preferred.
Experience in technical discipline, designing, building and supporting systems in a multi-platform high performance production environment.
Able to break down complicated technical goals and projects into planned tasks and components.
Administration and support of critical services and resources including configuration, licensing, monitoring, patching and updates.
