Creature FX TD


Job Description

Creature FX TDs are responsible for providing a wide variety of dynamic simulations for creature-based work; including clothing, hair, muscle, skin & dynamic rigs as well as any post-simulation sculpting and finaling.

Must Have -

  • Have 3+ years as a full time Creature FX TD/Artist on feature films
  • Be comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work where appropriate and familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature heavy post production environment
  • Thorough knowledge of an area of creature specialisation and a broad understanding of the other areas, which include enveloping in Maya, cloth, hair, flesh and muscle simulation
  • Have experience in Ziva Dynamics
  • Be a Maya power user
  • Have Linux experience


Nice to Have -

  • Programming or scripting skills (e.g. Python, Mel and C++)
  • Experience in Houdini Creature FX set-ups and simulation
  • Good understanding of anatomy, human and animal
  • Basic proficiency in another discipline - modeling, grooming and rigging
